Thank you for your desire to support the mission and ministries of Bethel through your financial stewardship. Stewardship is grateful living. It involves the grateful and responsible management and use of all of God's creation, including the wise management of our finances and generous sharing of our finances for the mission of Christ through our church.
There are many ways to give your gift.
You can make a gift by cash or check during worship or by mail. Gifts by credit card can be made securely on our secure website here.
You do not have to be a registered member to give online.
In addition to sharing your offering during worship, you have the option of signing up for an automated giving program online or making a one-time One Gift/Donation through your checking account or via credit card. It makes regular giving "Simple"! To sign up for Simply Giving, or access your existing account, Simply Giving, contact Nichole, our Director of Finance.
You can also sign up for Simply Giving by filling out this form and returning it to the church office.
Once you have created a Simply Giving account, you can set up your account in any of the following ways:
- Give a one-time offering to any of the funds listed. Choosing "Member Faith Giving", entering an amount, then selecting "one time" as your donation frequency is the online equivalent to putting an offering in the collection plate on a Sunday morning, and you can do it any time of the day, any day of the week.
- Sign up for recurring donations in the amount and frequency of your choice.
- Give a donation to another Bethel fund or another ELCA program.
- You will have the option of paying the processing fee for your pledge payment or donation. Bethel has always been charged a processing fee for each payment that is made online. We think it is a small price to pay for the stead stream of pledged income that comes in each month through Simply Giving. By signing up online, however, you have the option of covering that processing fee in addition to your donation if you wish.
Did you know you can make a charitable donation to Bethel using appreciated stock? This type of gift normally qualifies for a charitable deduction while also avoiding capital gains taxes. The easiest way to proceed is contact your broker to start a transfer of stock to Bethel's brokerage account. Please contact Nichole Porath, Director of Finance, regarding the details of your stock gift or fore more information. You can reach Nichole at 507-786-6687 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
IRA Charitable Transfer
An IRA Charitable Transfer allows you to make a gift to Bethel directly from your IRA, pay no taxes on the transfer and count the gift toward your required minimum distribution. If you are age 70.5 or older and you would like to make a gift directly from your IRA, contact your plan administrator for the appropriate form. In addition to including the donor name on the check, you may need to provide the following information:
Legal name: Bethel Lutheran Church
Address: Attn: Nichole Porath 1321 North Avenue, Northfield MN 55057
All contribution are secure and tax deductible. As a member, you will receive a year-end giving statement for your records. Non-members can also receive one by calling our Finance Office at 507-786-6687 or emailing email@example.com.
